I can't stop thinking about... 'Gingerbitz'

Not to be dramatic, but Gingerbitz has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Their Soft-German-Style Gingerbread has made me envious of Germans who have this sweet treat year round.

Gingerbitz ran shop from 2014-2018 as New Canaan's first local bakery ran by a local couple. It has since shut down and now operates out of Beanz Espresso Coffee Bar in New Canaan and as a freelance bakery, usually busiest during the holiday season with many Holiday Boutiques. It specializes in Lebkuchen, a traditional German gingerbread that is soft, dense, and cake-like, a distinct difference from harder, crispier American gingerbread cookies.
A few days ago, I attended another one of those holiday boutiques expecting to be overwhelmed by the countless book, candle, and fragrance shop set-ups. Gingerbitz proved me wrong.
At their stand, they had laid out an array of what seemed like regular christmas cookies, which, in and of itself, hooked me. But what made me stay were the fact that the base of each of these cookies was Gingerbread. I love Gingerbread. And for whatever reason it is my kryptonite, and I bought as much as my allowance allowed me to.
My favorite were like classic Gingerbread men with a light layer of icing on the top. The shape only makes it more fun to eat.

I have since run out of all my Gingerbitz... and will be heading up to New Canaan soon to restock. But seriously, and I cannot stress this enough, Gingerbitzs' soft Gingerbread is life-changing. It is exactly what you need this holiday season.
